Milada Schmidtová graduated from the Baťa Business Academy in Zlín, where she joined some students and professors at the Zlín School of Art in the early 1940s. It also had a strong influence on her stay in Paris, where she met the person and works of Picasso. Her early work was influenced by modernism, she devoted herself to figural painting, portraits and landscape painting. The exhibition is her first retrospective. It is an essential contribution to the knowledge of the Czech art after the Second World War and the breadth of the New Figuration stream.
