The exhibition presents a selection of the works by contemporary Roma artists from the collection of the Museum of Romani Culture in Brno. It concentrates on the depiction of the road, one of the key subjects of Roma world. Mostly non-professional and self-educated artists depict not only traditional migratory life, but also travels for work, wedding parades, shepherds' pilgrimages, and many of them deal with the Roma holocaust. Exhibited are works by Rudolf Dzurko, created from the coloured glass shivers, embroidery by Markéta Šestáková, paintings, drawings and collages by Ján Berky and many other works.
The exhibition is made in cooperation with the Museum of Romani Culture in Brno, and runs within the framework of the Week of Romani Culture in Jihlava.
