The exhibition will present the work of painter Otakar Lebeda (1877 - 1901), considered alongside František Kaván and Antonín Slavíček as the most talented pupil of Julius Mařák's landscape studio at the Prague Academy. The conception of the exhibition is based on the scope and the content of an exceptional painting, created within a mere nine years. In several dozen works borrowed from the public galleries of the Czech Republic and from private collections, Lebed's short journey from initial realism to moody landscapes, through impressive painting to the final inclination to expression in figural motifs, will be observed.
