The exhibition is freely inspired by the historical fact that Jihlava was a German language enclave.
Apart from refering to the local symbolics and history, it also borrows the above mentioned situation as a metaphor: it works with the medium of painting, visual language that in current world is mostly surrounded by totally different visual discourse. The exhibition thus points to the specific position of painting today and on the example of exhibited artworks also quotes the language of historic sculpture and architecture.
It is also a reaction on the gallery space with vaultings and central pillar: it uses related visual motives and finishes and alters thus the gallery architecture. It presents painterly installation at the same time illusive and symbolic.
