In an intimate form, the exhibition wants to pay tribute to Josef Florian, who, with his clairvoyant and uncompromising publishing work, has become a cornerstone of modern Czech book culture.
The exhibition will provide a brief insight into the work of tribal collaborators, participating in the artistic form of the volumes Studies (Studie), Nova et Vetera, the Good Work (Dobré dílo) and the Arches (Archy). Thanks to loans from public collections and private collectors, selected prints will be confronted with the free work of artists involved in building the mountain of the studio, which was Josef Florian's living metaphor for knowing and fulfilling the spiritual essence of life. Over the course of more than four decades, creators of well-known names, as well as beginning non-professional artists, have emerged among visual artists, which has captivated Florian's interest in a beautiful book that perfectly connects word and image: František Bílek, Bohuslav Reynek, Josef Čapek, Vlastislav Hofman, Georges Rouault , Willi Wessel, Otto Coester, Albert Schamoni, Michael, Methoděj, Josef and Marie Florian ... and others).
